Geographical Diversity

Jharkhand is known for its forests, hills, and mineral resources. Many districts like Dhanbad and Bokaro are famous for coal mines. Ranchi, the state capital, is known for waterfalls and greenery. East Singhbhum, especially Jamshedpur, is an industrial hub.

Historical Background

Before becoming a separate state, these districts were part of Bihar. The demand for a new state arose to focus on the welfare of tribal communities. On 15 November 2000, Jharkhand became the 28th state of India. At that time, the state had only 18 districts. Over the years, more districts were added for better governance.

Role of Districts in Development

Each district has its role in the development of the state. Industrial districts like Bokaro and Dhanbad contribute to the economy. Dumka and other districts focus on agriculture. The government ensures that tribal welfare schemes reach every district.

Challenges Faced by Districts

Despite development, Jharkhand’s districts face challenges. Many areas are remote and lack proper infrastructure. Education and healthcare services are limited in some places. Tribal regions need more attention for their upliftment.
